Oil Refineries
As a company with a register mandate, we also buy product from significant refineries in Kazakhstan and the CIS nations to satisfy the needs of our customers. 10% of one of Kazakhstan’s largest oil refineries is owned by Buken Oil. 290,000 barrels of crude oil can be refined at the refinery each day. The supply of high-quality refined fuel products from Kazakhstann refineries is the main line of business for Buken Oil. Through a well-established distribution network in Kazakhstan, high-quality refined fuel products are also traded on a regional and international level. To guarantee the ongoing operation of Buken Oil, numerous internal and strategic projects are planned.
Storage of Petroleum
We work with significant storage terminal providers in Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, and the USA as a register mandated company. Our storage terminal partners help with marine bunker operations and have 13 storage tanks in the Netherlands and the United States that can hold 220,000 cubic meters of bunker fuel. Each tank has a deepwater jetty for tankers up to 160,000 tonnes of displacement and additional jetties for barges up to 10,000 tonnes of displacement. One of the products handled is fuel oil, along with gas oil. All products are stored either together or separately, depending on the demands of the customers. The terminal is highly automated.
Transportation of Fuel
For our internal traders of oil, metals, and minerals, Buken Oil also acts as a service provider with significant shipping and logistics firms to secure affordable and dependable freight. The Wet and Dry Freight desks both serve as stand-alone profit centers. Key regional hubs in Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, and the US are where Buken Oil manages shipping and logistics operations. As a result, we provide round-the-clock coverage of the freight and physical commodity markets. All post-fixture activities, including issuing voyage orders, finishing stowage plans, negotiating with port agents, and managing demurrage claims, are managed by our Kazakhstan office.
